Stephen's is a family owned and family run business with a vested interest in our customers' happiness. We believe a satisfied customer is our most valuable asset and we are proud of the fact that our customers recommend us to their friends and family. This tells us that we are doing something right.
The Beginning......
Founded in 1977 by our parents, Stephen and Dorothea Koukotas (pictured here), Stephen's have been keeping people warm for over 30 years. Our mission is to offer high quality outerwear garments at affordable prices. Our father, a master furrier, learned his craft in Greece, the land of his birth. Stephen brought is skill to the New York City fur district in 1951. In 1957, he met and married our mother, Dorothea. After working in industry, teaching school and raising three children, Dorothea decided to exercise her entrepreneurial nature, utilize our father's skill and open a fur shop. The original 'Stephen's Fur' was located on Hamilton Avenue in Trenton, New Jersey and in 1999 we moved to our present location at 682 Whitehead Road in Lawrenceville, New Jersey.
